Old Sentiment [Studio City, CA]

...to Be Peaceful is something to aspire to...
However, as we fall down the black hole of the 21st Century
conditions are not quite conducive to the peaceful life.

Yeah, if I fucked around with composition - would I have taken this picture?...

Old Trapper - Alvin Cleveland Park [Woodland Hills, CA]

The Old Trapper installation is located in Alvin Cleveland Park - Dedicated January 1969
One would never know, except for this plaque on rock reminder in an overgrown, out of the way corner.
Who was Alvin Cleveland?... and why does he have a park in a far off corner of the agricultural section of Pierce College?...
Some googling tells us nothing except for references to the Old Trapper installation in the park...
One must move beyond the first page of results to start finding some clues...
- A link to an oral history interview in the UCLA Library Digital Collections
- A page from the Valley News - pg.57 (August 17, 1961) has a list of class offerings at Pierce college:
[...] Agriculture offerings as announced by Alvin Cleveland, chairman of the college department of agriculture[...] and a class in "beef production" with your instructor, Alvin Cleveland.
Not much else comes up other than the usual "locate people for a price" crap... I'll keep digging.

Couch on Schoolbus [North Hollywood, CA]

Not sure what's going on with the converted schoolbus
with the proto-Elvis characted painted on the back
and the couch on the roof...
Would be interesting to know.
Alas, no URL is painted anywhere advertising anything.
